If turning your head makes driving hard
Stiffness after a crash can make checking mirrors and blind spots uncomfortable. If you can’t turn your head comfortably, are dizzy, or took medication that makes you drowsy, don’t drive yourself. Ask a family member, a friend or a rideshare. Bringing someone along is welcome.
What we look at during your evaluation
- How your neck and back move, and where movement is limited
- Muscle guarding and tenderness around the spine and shoulders
- Seat-belt pressure areas across the chest, hip and shoulder
- Reflexes, strength and sensation when your symptoms call for it
- Anything that suggests you should see a medical provider first

Questions we hear from Garland patients
Is there a Howill office in Garland?
No. Patients from this area are seen at our Richardson clinic. Our second clinic is in Arlington.
My spouse was in the car too. Can we come together?
Yes. Each person books their own evaluation, and we can try to schedule you back to back. Patients under 18 need a parent or guardian with them. We see adults and teens 16 and older; patients under 18 need a parent or guardian present.
My pain didn’t start until two days later. Should I still come in?
Soreness that builds over a day or two is common after a collision. Whether to be evaluated is your decision; if you have concerns, an exam can help you understand your options.
What will the first visit cost?
Self-pay prices are on our pricing page. If PIP, MedPay or health insurance applies, we explain it before care begins.
